Privacy Policy

How myLocal handles information across the directory, business workspace, promotional tools, and connected services.

Last updated: August 23, 2026

Overview

myLocal is a community business directory and promotional platform. This Privacy Policy explains the information we may collect, how we may use it, and the choices available to people and businesses using myLocal.

This policy applies to the myLocal directory, business workspace, websites powered by myLocal, and related promotional and account features.

Information We Collect

We may collect account details such as names, email addresses, authentication information, business roles, and security preferences. Business accounts may provide listing details, contact information, logos, social links, website content, and promotional materials.

People browsing the directory may provide saved locations, favorite businesses, newsletter subscriptions, missing-business suggestions, and other information they choose to submit.

We may also collect technical and usage information such as browser type, device details, pages viewed, approximate location, log data, and error diagnostics.

When someone arrives through a chamber, print shop, community partner, or campaign, we may retain the referral code, campaign parameters, landing page, an anonymous session identifier, and related product events so we can understand whether the introduction led to a claim or product activation. Product-event records are designed not to include customer contact details.

Public Business Information

Business names, categories, addresses, phone numbers, websites, descriptions, images, social links, and promotional content may be displayed publicly when included in a published listing or myLocal-powered site.

Businesses are responsible for ensuring that submitted listing content is accurate and that they have the right to publish it.

Audience and Customer Data

Businesses may store promotional audience information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, tags, subscription status, and consent history. Businesses control this information and are responsible for having the permissions and notices required to collect and use it.

myLocal uses business audience data to provide the service to the account owner and as otherwise directed by authorized business users. Operational records that belong in a connected vertical product may remain in that product rather than myLocal.

For promotional delivery, we may process provider message identifiers, delivery status, message-segment counts, carrier charges, opt-out events, campaign references, and usage balances. Campaign history stores a protected destination fingerprint rather than copying the raw destination into each delivery record.

How We Use Information

We may use information to operate the directory, verify and manage business listings, provide websites and promotional tools, maintain accounts, process subscriptions, support users, improve myLocal, prevent misuse, and protect the service.

We may send administrative, security, subscription, and product communications. Promotional messages are sent according to the applicable subscription and consent settings.

Vertical Interest and Activation

If a business joins an early-access list or requests activation of Buttoned, Apron Lane, or another connected product, myLocal may retain the business and contact details submitted, the consent record, referral information, and activation status. Completing a vertical activation may cause the relevant business identity and request details to be shared with that connected product.

Payments

Payment services may be provided by third-party processors. myLocal may receive limited transaction details such as payment status, transaction identifiers, plan information, billing address, and limited payment-method details supplied by the processor.

Payment processors handle payment information under their own terms and privacy policies. myLocal does not intend to store full payment card numbers or card authentication data on its own servers.

How We Share Information

We may share information with providers that support hosting, authentication, email, payments, analytics, customer support, integrations, and security. These providers receive information needed to perform their services for myLocal.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, in connection with a business transfer, or with the permission of the account owner or person concerned.

Cookies and Local Storage

myLocal may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, maintain security, understand service usage, and improve the product.

Retention and Security

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal or accounting requirements, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain appropriate business records.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee perfect security.

Your Choices

Users and business owners may update certain information and communication preferences through myLocal. They may also request help accessing, correcting, exporting, or deleting information, subject to legal, security, and operational limits.

Policy Updates and Contact

We may update this policy as myLocal, its integrations, and applicable requirements evolve. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date.

Questions or privacy requests may be submitted through the contact options available at myLocal.ing or within the myLocal product.
